Role summary
This role is for an ECT Support Worker at the Glenbourne Unit, working 8 hours per week. You will join an established team delivering compassionate care to vulnerable patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy. The main duties involve supporting patients through their ECT journey, including pre and post-treatment checks, observations, and ensuring physical health monitoring. You will also assist registered nurses and the wider team in delivering safe treatment and meeting ECTAS standards.
Key responsibilities
- Support patients during their journey within the ECT department, including pre and post treatment checks and observations.
- Maintain a good knowledge of physical health monitoring, escalating any concerns and reassuring patients and their families.
- Provide support to registered nurses and the wider team in the safe delivery of treatment and ensuring all ECTAS standards are met.
- Ensure the ECT Suite is appropriately prepared, and all equipment is checked and in good working order.
- Complete all relevant documentation and ensure accurate records of patient treatment are up-to-date.
- Be responsible for the emergency and resuscitation equipment, ensuring it is maintained and in good working order.

The
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Department based at the Glenbourne Unit is
looking to recruit a ECT Support worker.
We are seeking a
new Support worker to join our established team in the continued delivery of
excellent care provided to users of our service and their families. You will be
someone with a passion for and experience of working within Mental Health
settings and have a passion for supporting those within crisis and recovery
from mental illness.
The team deliver
compassionate skilled care to very vulnerable patients as both inpatient and
outpatients. This role will also involve supporting carers using Triangle of
care principles.
Main duties of the job
The overall job
purpose of this post holder is to support the patient during their journey
within the ECT department, including pre and post treatment checks and
observations. This includes holding a good knowledge of physical health
