Role summary
Join the CLCH Academy as a Practice Development Nurse to shape learning and development in 0-19 Children's Services. Based in Richmond, you will use your Health Visitor experience to support practice development, teaching, supervision, and assessment. The role involves identifying learning needs, delivering education, and promoting high standards of care. You will contribute to workforce development and evidence-based practice within a supportive team.
Key responsibilities
- Identify learning and development needs and help teams respond to them effectively.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate education and training, considering local and national priorities.
- Facilitate induction, education and continuing professional development for registered and non-registered nursing staff.
- Provide teaching, supervision and assessment that supports staff to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence.
- Work alongside clinical teams to embed learning, development and evidence-based practice into everyday care.
- Promote high standards of care by sharing clinical knowledge, expertise and best practice.
Essential criteria
- Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor)
- Relevant Post graduate Specialist Practitioner qualification (nursing roles) / Educated to Masters degree level or equivalent
- Clinical Leadership training
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development
- Previous experience in practice development
- Experience in taking forward clinical and service change
- Experience of working in a changing and uncertain environment
- Experience of delivering on development initiatives and leading change with individuals and teams
- Experience of working and engaging with staff and stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of using evidence to inform best practice
- Knowledge of the national priorities relating to the Healthy Child Programme
- Ability to implement and evaluate successful change programmes
- Leadership skills, relationship building skills and influencing skills
- Ability to focus on key priorities and to sustain momentum to achieved desired results
- Integrates organisational vision and values as way of working
- Aware of the equalities and diversity agenda
