Role summary
This role involves leading the design and development of solution architectures for commissioning and service transformation within the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and wider Integrated Care System (ICS). The postholder will define current and future solution architectures, support business case development, and ensure commissioning decisions are backed by robust digital and data solutions. It requires understanding internal ICB architecture and mapping partner organizations' systems to create coherent, scalable, and interoperable solutions for integrated care.
Essential criteria
- Experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or similar roles
- Experience designing and delivering complex digital or data solutions
- Experience of mapping system landscapes and identifying solution opportunities
- Experience supporting business case development and option appraisal
- Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
- Experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of setting up and implementing internal processes and procedures
- Experience of managing a team without direct line management
- Experience of managing risks and reporting
- Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
- Experience of monitoring budgets and business planning processes
- Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Digital, Information Systems, or related field
- Relevant certification (e.g, TOGAF, BCS, or equivalent) or working towards
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
- Understanding of the public sector
- Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Agile project principles, techniques and tools.

- Understanding of integration, interoperability, and data flows
- Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, practical solutions

- Numerate and able to understand complex financial issues combined with deep analytical skills
- Knowledge of Financial Systems e.g. monitoring budget management, processing invoices and procurement

Job summary
The Commissioning Solutions Architect will lead the design and development of solution architectures that support commissioning and service transformation across the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and wider Integrated Care System (ICS).
The role focuses on defining as-is and to-be solution architectures, supporting business case development, and ensuring that commissioning decisions are underpinned by robust, future-facing digital and data solutions.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will develop a strong understanding of internal ICB enterprise and information architecture while also mapping and analysing the solutions, systems, and technologies used by partner and provider organisations. This will enable the design of coherent, scalable, and interoperable solutions that support integrated care and improved outcomes.
