Role summary
This is a development opportunity for a Band 7 Ward Manager within the Oncology Day units at Alnwick and Berwick. The role involves providing clinical and operational management for patients undergoing Systematic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT). You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and improve patient experience. Candidates should have significant post-registration experience in SACT service, including administering SACT and managing toxicities.
Essential criteria
- 1st Level Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing or relevant study at degree level.
- Registered mentor
- SACT administration qualification
- Advanced Clinical Skills Qualification
- Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake within 18 months
Desirable criteria
- Managerial qualification
- IRMER qualification or willingness to undertake
- Advanced Communication qualification or willingness to undertake
- ECDL qualification
- Experience and Knowledge
- Extensive skills and knowledge in Oncology
- Previous oncology experience at Band 6

Job summary
A development opportunity has arisen within the Oncology Day units at Alnwick and Berwick for a Manager ( Band 7) to provide clinical/operational management for patients undertaking Systematic Anti-Cancer Treatment.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the nurse led Oncology Day Units treating a range of tumour groups. You will work closely with the wider members of the MDT, palliative care and other clinicians in providing high quality care.

Main duties of the job
To provide clinical expertise through the role of Oncology Day Unit manager to manage and develop the service . The post holder will work in close liaison with the other Unit Manager, and other Deputy Sister/ Deputy Charge Nurses, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway and improve the patient
