Essential criteria
- Substantial post registration experience working within a hospital or healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
- Relevant clinical experience in an out patient are
- Relevant or recent clinical experience in Genito-urinary Medicine
- Relevant voluntary experience
- Experience undertaking cervical cytolgy
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
- Venepuncture skills
- BASHH-Sexual infections foundation course or simular
- Training in cervical cytology
- Ability to calculate drug dosages
- Previous mentorship skills/qualification

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 development post within the Sandwell Sexual Health services. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to undergo training and development to become a Band 6 senior Contraception and Sexual Health Nurse.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic passionate nurse who wants to develop professionally to work within a motivated team of professionals and deliver education, sexual health advice and management.
We are a multi-professional progressive team providing a comprehensive, evidence based and patient focused service for Contraception and Genitourinary Medicine specialising in integrated sexual health and HIV services. They will be working at the main hub at the Lyng Centre and our outreach services across Sandwell.
The post holder will work alongside consultants and senior specialist nurses to gain appropriate training and skills in order to provide clinical care for presenting groups of patients including history taking, clinical assessment and examination, safeguarding, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care.
