Role summary

This role involves managing a clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients, working autonomously both virtually and face-to-face. You will develop high-level skills and knowledge, supported by supervision and a structured capability framework. Key responsibilities

  • Manage a clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner, both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of skill and knowledge in clinical practice, supported by supervision and a capability framework.
  • Work independently, proactively, and under pressure with a positive disposition towards patients and staff.
  • Participate in regular in-service training, clinical supervision, and allocated Continued Professional Development (CPD) time.
  • Be involved in running outpatient group sessions such as lower limb, back rehabilitation, and shoulder classes.
  • Be flexible, embrace change and innovation, and work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.

Essential criteria

  • Degree or Diploma Physiotherapy or current student working towards the above.
  • Professional Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Recent healthcare experience in a community/acute setting gained through student placement or previous employment
  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS.
  • Knowledge of up to date clinical practice
  • Competent IT skills
  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post
  • A full, valid UK driving licence or a full driving licence issued by an EU country (not exchanged from a non-EU country) and the ability to travel independently are essential for this role.   • Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda for health under the guidance of service leads

Desirable criteria

  • Membership of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • MSK experience gained through education, student placement or previous employment.
  • NHS experience, whether as a band 5 physiotherapist, physiotherapy assistant or student on placement
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development
  • Competent presentation skills

Job summary

The MSK Physiotherapy service provides outpatient MSK services across Kent. We operate within four teams covering North Kent, Ashford, Canterbury and Thanet, South Kent Coast and West Kent.

We are recruiting for:

o North Kent team working between Gravesham Community Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital

We provide outpatient MSK Physiotherapy services to the residents of our local area. Whilst working closely with our colleagues in other areas, to provide a Kent wide service.

We form part of the Integrated Musculoskeletal (IMSK) service which incorporates the Community Orthopaedic and First Contact Practitioner team and, the Community Chronic Pain team.

Although full time hours are preferred. Part time hours may be considered for the right candidate at a minimum of 30 hours over 4 days.

This role is open to both current registered physiotherapists and students.

Main duties of the job

Your main responsibilities will include managing a clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner both virtually and face to face.

Developing and maintaining a high level of skill and knowledge in all areas of clinical practice supported by your clinical supervisor and a structured capability framework.
