Key responsibilities
- Carry out a variety of nursing interventions, ensuring patient safety is at the forefront of your mind.
- Work within a highly skilled team of professionals.

- Coordinate all aspects of the patient journey to ensure delivery of the best outcomes for the patient up to and including discharge.

Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Advanced Diploma/Degree in Adult Nursing
- Experience of caring for patients with acute and long term conditions
- Demonstrable clinical experience
- Demonstrable ability with vital signs monitoring equipment and ability to recognise the deteriorating patient
- Non IV and IV medication administration
- Knowledge of conditions relevant to speciality
- Ability to demonstrate fundamental nursing knowledge and practice skills
- Ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions
- Able to integrate and work within the MDT
Desirable criteria
- SLIP trained/mentorship course
- Experience of End of Life Care
- Administration of blood products or willingness to undertake necessary training
- Experience of clinical skills such as: ECG recording, CVC, Cannulation and Venepuncture, Male catheterisation
- Awareness of patient experience, quality and safety agenda's that support Governance Framework
- Leadership and management skills

Tell me about the Ward?
The respiratory ward manages the exciting balance of acuity, palliative and everything in between. Our patient group covers a diverse range from young asthmatics to exacerbations' of COPD and patients with lung cancer. We are also home to the Acute Lung Unit, where we provide acutely unwell patients with Non-Invasive Ventilation and Nasal High Flow Oxygen.
