Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join the Adult Mental Health (AMH) Clinical Psychology and Psychological services in North Wales. The role involves providing specialist psychological knowledge and expertise to the Wrexham CMHT, working with adults who have complex and severe mental health needs. Responsibilities include direct clinical input, training, supervision, formulation work, and attendance at various team meetings. The post offers excellent clinical and research links, with opportunities for peer support, supervision, and further training.
Essential criteria
- Good Honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for Chartered status with the BPS
- HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Post graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
- Clinical Supervision training for Doctoral trainees.

- Advanced Training in research design and methodology
- Significant experience of qualified clinical psychology practice.
- Knowledge of a variety of relevant therapeutic approaches for mental health work and assessments.

This is a very exciting opportunity to help make a real difference to increasing access to Adult Mental Health (AMH) Clinical Psychology and Psychological services in North Wales. You will be joining a friendly, welcoming, and growing NHS secondary care AMH Clinical Psychology & Psychological services Department, with excellent clinical and research links with the School of Psychology and the DClinPsych Department at the University of Wales, Bangor.
The post holder will also benefit from BCUHB wide links across the North Wales within the BCUHB AMH Clinical Psychology & Psychological Services, with opportunity for research and clinical networking both North Wales and All Wales wide. They will be well supported, mentored, and managed within that department, with the opportunity for ongoing peer support, supervision, and further training and advancement.
