Role summary
This role is for an Occupational Therapist to join the Intensive Home Treatment Team in Bassetlaw, focusing on older adults with mental health issues. The post-holder will conduct OT-specific assessments, formulations, and interventions, working collaboratively with patients, carers, and partners to develop goal-oriented treatment plans. The role involves comprehensive risk assessments, care planning, and supporting non-pharmacological approaches within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will also guide junior staff and work flexibly across a seven-day service, including weekends and bank holidays.
Essential criteria
- BSc or MSc Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Specialist knowledge/post registration and experience of working in a mental health setting

- Demonstrates continued professional development to maintain registration
- Practice Placement Educator APPLE accredited.
- Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to perform a full range of duties

- A driving license is required for this post, however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the equality act 2010
- The candidate must be able to work flexibly in terms of the days of the week in order to cover the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job
Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to join Intensive Home Treatment Team in Bassetlaw.
The post-holder will conduct OT specific assessments, formulation and interventions, working collaboratively with patients, their carers/families and partnership organisations to develop creative, goal oriented, time limited occupational therapy plans. This will be alongside team assessments and comprehensive and dynamic risk assessments including care planning around relapse prevention , suicidality and safety planning.
The Intensive Home Treatment Team work work on a shared caseload. The OT clinician will play an integral role in supporting with non pharmacological approaches and interventions and day to day management of the caseload. They will be proficient in using occupation to enhance recovery within the MDT including participating in the role of Duty worker .
As a clinician within in the IHTT - there will be an expectation to lead , guide and support junior staff flexibly across the service on occasion.
