Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to become a Practice Educator within the Community, Cancer, Diagnostics and End of Life Division (CCDE). The role involves driving learning, providing education and support for various initiatives like 2-hour response, induction, and preceptorship. The post holder will work closely with the Quality and Service Improvement Matron and other leads to facilitate core skills training, patient safety training, and one-to-one support. The aim is to develop staff to the highest standard and promote a culture of patient safety.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure the provision of high quality multi professional learning environments within the CCDE division.
- Work locally within services to promote inter professional learning opportunities.
- Identify opportunities and lead on the delivery and review of inter professional learning opportunities.
- Support and facilitate Core Skills Training, Induction, Preceptorship, Patient Safety Training, and One-to-One Support.
Essential criteria
- Registered Practitioner (NMC / HCPC registered)
- Professional qualification, to a minimum of degree level or diploma plus relevant experience upto degree level.
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification or Evidence of Assessing and Supervision, Preceptorship and Performance Development
- Leadership experience.
- Practical experience of facilitating change.
- Experience of staff management/staff supervision.
- Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.
- Ability to facilitate multidisciplinary relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Up to date Clinical Skills and the ability to teach o Venepuncture o Catheterisation including suprapubic o Vascular Access Devices o Medical Devices i.e., Syringe Drivers, Blood Glucose Machines o Pressure ulcer Management and Prevention
- Flexible / Agile Working
Desirable criteria
- Leadership course.
- Post Graduate certificate in Education.
- Change management experience. Demonstrable evidence of involvement with benchmarking and/ or audit.
- Knowledge and experience of the private, voluntary and independent sector.
- Understanding of quality improvement methodology and outcome measurement.
- Extended clinical skills - Cannulation, ECG, IV drug administration
