Role summary
This role involves working as an Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) within the Suffolk Mental Health Support Team. You will conduct assessments with children, young people, and their families to provide targeted, evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health needs. The position also supports the Whole School/College approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health, working collaboratively within education settings.
Essential criteria
- Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' course or CWP course.
- Previous Experience
- Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others.
- Experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with children and their families in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of educational environments
- Knowledge of safeguarding issues

Job summary
Are you passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people? We are excited to be recruiting 2 Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) or a Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs). The Suffolk Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is based within education settings, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support and the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering this service.
We are a dynamic mental health team working in a creative environment to continue developing this new service. Suffolk has had MHSTs since 2020 and we continue to expand. The roles are in our existing teams based one in our East Ipswich team and one in Coastal and Rural team. You will need to be adaptable and have a passion for working with children and young people in education settings.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will complete assessments with children, young people and their parents/carers to inform targeted and evidence-based interventions to support the management of mild to moderate mental health needs. Using a collaboration and coproduction approach, the successful candidate will also support the team's delivery of the Whole
