Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated clinician to undertake a new role as a Band 7 Clinical Team Manager within the Crisis Assessment Unit and Section 136 service. You will provide clear, visible leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, responsive, and service user-focused care. The role involves leading on clinical governance, service improvement, and day-to-day operational management within an evolving and demanding environment. You will work collaboratively with the Clinical Team Manager for the Street Triage Service and establish strong working relationships with external partners.

Essential criteria

  • Have a recognised professional qualification e.g. Nursing / Social Work / Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Be competent and confident, to provide expertise, advice, clinical and managerial leadership and role modelling to the teams they are working with.
  • Develop and facilitate effective communication between the teams/services that are within the crisis pathway and beyond.
  • Have experience in managing staff.
  • Be able to demonstrate a broad range of administrative, clinical, managerial and leadership skills, for the post in question and evidence to support this.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective working partnerships within a multi-disciplinary team, to achieve an integrated, effective and efficient service.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills including planning, prioritisation, staff development and evaluation.
  • Have a clear understanding of and commitment to the role of S136 & Street Triage services as defined in the service specification.
  • Have an excellent understanding of mental health services, including relevant legislation.

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated clinician to undertake a a new role as a Band 7 Clinical Team Manager within the Crisis Assessment Unit and Section 136 service at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. At a time when the service is undergoing review and development, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape and influence future service delivery, contributing to improved outcomes for individuals experiencing mental health crisis.

Crisis Assessment Unit (CAU), which is currently operating as a 6-bedded acute female ward, ensuring safe, effective, and integrated care across the crisis pathway. The s136 suite, health based place of safety is attached to CAU and is a 2 bedded suite. As Clinical Team Manager, you will provide clear, visible leadership to a multidisciplinary team of nurses and health support workers, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, responsive, and service user-focused service.

Working closely with the Clinical Operations Manager and wider senior leadership team, you will lead on clinical governance, service improvement, and the day-to-day operational management of the team within an evolving and demanding environment. The role requires strong leaders
