Role summary

This role is for a highly motivated Theatre Practitioner (ODP/RN) to join the Day Surgery theatre team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn. The unit covers a wide range of surgical specialties. The successful candidate will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing assistance in all aspects of the Operating Department and maintaining accurate patient records. Exceptional newly qualified staff and Return to Practice nurses are also considered for this developmental opportunity.

Essential criteria

  • Registered with HCPC (ODP) or NMC (RN), or eligible to register via an NMC Return to Practice programme.
  • Degree/Diploma in Nursing or equivalent
  • A UK recognised anaesthetic qualification

Desirable criteria

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • ILS qualification or previous recovery experience
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Have a sound knowledge/experience of basic theatre skills and theatre processes
  • Experience in a broad range of theatre specialties
  • Anaesthetic practitioner experience
  • Skills, abilities, and knowledge

Job summary

We are currently looking to recruit an Theatre Practitioner (ODP/RN) (Must be UK recognised qualification) to join us as part of our friendly and enthusiastic Day Surgery theatre team.

We cover a wide range of specialties including oral, ENT, gynaecological, urological, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, general surgery, bronchoscopy and a pain service.

We offer a busy exciting work environment and we are committed to the support and training of our staff, as such we are keen to develop suitable candidates within the role.

You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, preferably have experience in a day surgery theatre environment and possess excellent communication skills. We require individuals who are forward thinking and well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse (or returning via a recognised Return to Practice programme leading to NMC RN registration) or an Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC registered).

This post can only be offered as a developmental opportunity to support Nurses returning to Band 5 practice.
