Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership within Ward 43, an acute cardiology unit at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team within the acute cardiology unit.
- Regularly take charge and coordinate the delivery of patient care to ensure optimal patient flow.
- Support the delivery of high-quality, holistic and compassionate care to cardiology patients throughout their acute care, rehabilitation and discharge planning.
- Act as a role model for junior staff, provide specialist knowledge and advice, evaluate and implement care.
- Support and deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse(s) in their absence and undertake appropriate managerial responsibilities.
- Provide evidence of care assurance within the ward and contribute to the management of staff issues in accordance with Once for Scotland policies.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Experience of working within an acute clinical environment.
- Experience and knowledge of caring for cardiology patients.
- Experience of providing clinical leadership within a nursing team.
- Ability to take charge and coordinate the delivery of patient care.
- Knowledge of acute care, rehabilitation and discharge planning.
- Ability to provide specialist nursing knowledge and advice.
- Experience of supporting and developing junior staff.
- Awareness and experience of managing staff issues in line with Once for Scotland policies.
- Ability to provide care assurance within the clinical environment.
- Commitment to staff wellbeing, professional development, kindness and civility.
