Job summary
Due to the expansion of the metabolic bone service we have an exciting opportunity for a clincial nurse specialist with experience in metabolic bone disorders to join our service.
The clinical nurse specialist in metabolic bone disorder will have good knowledge and experience of metabolic bone disorders and will work closely with the DMOPS consultant to provide specialist care to patients with metabolic bone disorders. The post holder will play a key role in the Metabolic bone disorders service and will take a lead on developing a nurse led service.
Main duties of the job
- Develop standardised pathways for assessment and treatment of patients with metabolic bone disorders, specifically osteoporosis
- Lead quality improvement projects to increase efficiency in the metabolic bone disorders clinic
- Develop new workstreams including CNS-led osteoporosis clinic
- Lead CNS osteoporosis clinic under the care of DMOPS consultant
- Liaise with DMOPS colleagues across the wards and FAU to educate and develop quality improvement projects for patients with osteoporosis
- Monitor re admission rates of patient with metabolic bone disorders and be a key part in admission avoidance of these patients
