Role summary

This role is for a Patient Transport Driver within the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) at Barts Health. You will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from hospitals, ensuring their dignity and respect. The job involves significant moving and handling of patients and equipment, requiring physical fitness. Drivers must also maintain Trust vehicles and report any defects or incidents.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE English and Maths. Or educated to NVQ level 3
  • Previous experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Manual UK Driving License
  • 2 years' driving experience experience

We are looking for physically capable, motivated, caring and compassionate individuals who to join the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service (NEPTS) at Barts Health as Patient Transport Drivers (PTDs).

Our NEPTS is available for patients who cannot travel to or from our hospitals using any other method of transport because of their medical or mobility condition, or because their medical condition would otherwise worsen. All requests for patient transport are assessed on medical need. Transport is only provided for patients coming from their home addresses to North East London NHS Trust locations. Transport is also provided for patients going home from a North East London NHS Trust locations to a booked address stated by the ward or clinic anywhere in the mainland UK.

2 Years driving experience and full manual UK driving license required
