Role summary

This role is for a Healthcare Assistant on Jervaulx, an Elderly Care Ward, at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily living activities and maintaining patient dignity. The position requires working a combination of days, nights, and weekends, including bank holidays. It is an internal applicants only role.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out assigned tasks involving direct patient care in support of and supervised by a Registered Nurse.
  • Work as an integrated member of the ward team, assisting with nursing procedures according to agreed policies.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (RQF accredited) or NHS England accredited Care Certificate, with evidence of full completion of the knowledge and work based assessments / relevant experience
  • Moving and Handling Certificate
  • Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Evidence of practical training or education in a care setting
  • Previous experience in a health care setting
