Role summary
This role is for a Senior Audiologist specializing in paediatric services within the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. The post-holder will conduct routine paediatric assessments and participate in hearing aid fitting and review appointments across various sites, including outreach clinics and domiciliary visits. Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical audiology services, training, and service development, working closely with Team Leads and the Head of Department.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day running and routine organisation of Paediatric Diagnostic and Rehabilitation clinics, including outreach and domiciliary visits.
- Perform, interpret, and report on a comprehensive range of tests related to hearing disorders, including advanced techniques.
- Provide expert diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services for paediatric patients of all ages, determining care plans and involving families.
- Undertake comprehensive technical activities related to fitting and fine-tuning hearing aids with children.
- Participate in the department's rotational scheme, providing services at different locations and domiciliary visits, potentially covering adult audiology clinics.
Essential criteria
- A BSc or PTP in Audiology or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- A certificate of Audiological Competence or equivalent HTS Modules
- Member of British Academy of Audiologists
- Be a member of an appropriate professional body (AHCS - Healthcare Scientist or HCPC - Clinical Scientist)
- Knowledge and Experience
- Have advanced current theoretical and practical knowledge of clinical Audiology and hearing aid technology
- Have experience of working as an independent practitioner for a range of Audiological diagnostic assessments and rehabilitative techniques and outcomes including paediatrics and adults. oDiagnostic Audiometry oTympanometry oSpeech Audiometry oReal Ear Measurement oImpression Taking oEarmould modifications oFitting & Rehabilitation
- CPD - Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
- Have extensive experience in paediatric audiology

- Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy/national guidance/CQC/ and appreciate the implications of this on engagement

Job summary
We are looking for a paediatric audiologist to join our dynamic team. The post-holder will provide routine paediatric assessments (in Tier 2 clinics) and participate in paediatric hearing aid fitting and review appointments (in Tier 3 clinics).
The post-holder will be required to work across sites to cover clinics at Royal Surrey County Hospital, including its outreach sites and domiciliary visits. Access to a car is highly recommended.
The post holder should have experience in providing the audiological assessment and/or habilitation of children and young people aged 0-18 years.
Within our department, there will be various opportunities for career development and training. Participation and completion of the Paediatric Assessment/Rehabilitation Modules of the BAA Higher Training Scheme is actively encouraged. Staff members are also supported to attend external specialist training courses.
All staff members benefit from a wide range of in-house educational and professional development opportunities - these comprise of clinical training in specialist areas; monthly team meetings, and monthly case study presentations. Audiologists are also encouraged to participate in ongoing research projects undertaken within the service.
Please note this role may involve 7-day a week working to support the service. Core hours of service are 9am - 5pm. Flexible working pattern
