Role summary
This role involves providing administrative support to the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS), working closely with specialist practitioners to ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care. The post holder will manage day-to-day administrative tasks, monitor patient pathways, and proactively address potential issues. It requires strong organisational skills and excellent communication to support patients and clinical teams effectively. The position is primarily based at Wexham Park Hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day administrative activities of the Fracture Liaison Service.
- Monitor patient pathways and help ensure timely patient progression through care.
- Proactively recognise potential problems and collaborate with colleagues to resolve them.
- Work closely with FLS Specialist Practitioners and wider clinical teams to support patient journeys.
- Book appointments and blood tests, and monitor DEXA scan waiting times.
- Escalate concerns or delays to the clinical team as appropriate.
Essential criteria
- Good general education to GCSE standard or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent practical experience
- Proficient keyboard and IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience of administrative/secretarial duties
- Experience working in an office environment
- Experience working effectively within a team
- Ability to work in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure
- Good computer literacy and keyboard skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, colleagues and other professionals
- Understanding of Data Protection, confidentiality and information governance requirements
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively
- Good organisational, numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive information

We are looking for an organised, proactive and compassionate FLS Administrator to join our Fracture Liaison Service team.
Working closely with our Fracture Liaison Specialist Practitioners, you will play an important role in supporting patients through their care pathway, helping to ensure that they receive timely, coordinated and effective support.
