Role summary
This is a part-time permanent Band 6 Colorectal Clinical Nurse Specialist position at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The role involves working within an established CNS team to provide clinical services to patients with colorectal conditions, supporting consultant and nurse-led clinics, and providing in-patient stoma and fistula care. The post holder will work autonomously in nurse-led clinics and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care. Excellent communication and teaching skills are essential for supporting patients and colleagues.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration and educated to degree level.
- Evidence of post registration CPD / post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short courses to FHEQ Level 6

- Teaching qualification
- Advanced communications course
- Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC.
- Significant post registration experience, with evidence of passion/ enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
- Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality.
- Experience and enthusiasm for teaching/assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment.
- Demonstrate understanding / experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the NMC.
- Experience in stoma/fistula care

Job summary
Are you a nurse with an interest in colorectal surgical nursing and looking for a new challenge? If you are, an exciting opportunity has become available within the Colorectal CNS team based at the Queen Elizabeth Hopsital for a Band 6 Colorectal CNS. This is a part time permanent position (30 hours). The post holder will work within an established CNS team to provide clinical services to patients with colorectal conditions supporting consultant and nurse led clinics, as well as providing in patient stoma and fistula care. Experience in colorectal and/or gastroenterology nursing would be beneficial, as would experience in multidisciplinary and cross agency working. This is a diverse role with plentiful opportunities for professional development, working within a supportive and friendly team.
