Role summary
This role is for an experienced Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Pre-Assessment Unit team. You will be responsible for leading nurse-led pre-assessment clinics, preparing patients for elective procedures, and ensuring high-quality, individualized care. The position requires previous experience in a pre-assessment unit and offers opportunities for professional development.
Key responsibilities
- To be responsible for the individualised care of clients on their elective surgical pathway.
- To provide and maintaining a high standard of nursing practice whilst co-ordinating and liaising with other staff.
- To assist with support and supervision of students and junior members of the team.
- To supervise and co-ordinate other staff as appropriate and take charge of own pre-assessment clinic.
- To demonstrate leadership and deputise in the absence of the Senior sister/ Charge.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Post registration qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in specialist area
- Mentorship programme
- Substantial experience Of working in a preoperative assessment unit

- Working towards Degree
