Role summary
This role is for a Specialist Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology at St George's site, within South West London Pathology. The post holder will provide specialist technical services, perform core scientific and interpretive work, and assist in training and supervising staff. It requires a minimum of two years' Band 5 experience in bacteriology and participation in a 24/7 shift system.
Key responsibilities

- Perform all core scientific and interpretive work corresponding to a Registered Biomedical Scientist's training and qualifications.
- Assist in training and supervising staff.
- Deputise for the Advanced Biomedical Scientist when necessary.
- Participate in a 24/7 shift system including weekend, night, late, and bank holiday working.
Essential criteria

- . Hold the IBMS Specialist Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Microbiology at SWLP is looking for Specialist Biomedical Scientist (with a minimum of two years Band 5 experience) to join our dynamic, friendly team . You will be deployed in Microbiology at the St George's site. The department offers the latest equipment in the Microbiology field with three Kiestra lines, MALDI-ToF technology, Uri-system, Liaison XLs, EntericBio, BD FX, MGIT, Phoenix and Microscan. There is an automated Serology track system and a specialised Molecular service including high throughput analysers.
