Role summary
This role involves working autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a high-quality Occupational Health Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service for Trust staff. You will formulate individualised treatment plans with SMART goals, maintain your clinical professional development, and actively participate in the Group Occupational Health MSK Team's training programmes. The position also requires contributing to improving staff MSK health and wellbeing and making recommendations for change based on evidence-based practice. You will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients with complex neuro-musculoskeletal presentations.
Key responsibilities
- Be professional, legally responsible, and accountable for all aspects of your work, including patient management.
- Formulate individualised management and treatment plans for complex neuro-musculoskeletal presentations.
- Respect staff/patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, and instruction to Trust employees and other professionals.
- Provide specialist advice, teaching, and training to other MDT members regarding physiotherapy management of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Train, supervise, and performance manage students when appropriate.
Essential criteria
- HCPC Registration
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD
- Demonstrate more advanced and competent practice within musculoskeletal services
- Ability to comprehend and work within the Trust policies of Data Protection, Fraud, Opportunities, Health and Safety, in meeting the differing needs of the patients.
- Understanding the legal responsibilities of the profession
- Excellent knowledge of musculoskeletal conditions, assessments and treatments.
- Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments.
- Able to work collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to carry out moderate to intense physical effort throughout the working day and carry out concurrent activities.
- Excellent knowledge of physiotherapy in the relevant area
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services including experience of quality issues and audit.
- NHS Experience in an MSK Outpatient setting
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of relevant post graduate courses/CPD i.e. ergonomics, DSE Assessment skills/ specialist MSK training courses
- Ability to provide detailed reports making recommendations where appropriate

Job summary
To work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient self-referral Occupational Health Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service for Trust staff.
To formulate individualised treatment plans with SMART goals using a range of clinical treatment skills taking into account the current evidence-base and the individual needs of the patient.
To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping abreast of any new trends and developments, and incorporate them as necessary into your work.
To be an active member of the Group Occupational Health MSK Team participating in in service training programme by attendance at/or participation in in-service training programmes, presentations and training sessions, staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions in house and by attending external courses and practising reflective practice.
To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use of Evidence Based Practice projects, audit, research and outcome measures, either individually or with colleagues or with clinical specialist or manager. Make recommendations for change.
