Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic Community Mental Health Nurse to join the Adult Community Mental Health Services in Dacorum. The successful candidate will work in a supportive multi-disciplinary team, focusing on enhancing clinic provision for medicines administration and physical health support. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge in community nursing and make a real difference to service quality. Newly registered Band 5 nurses will receive support through a 12-month preceptorship programme.

Essential criteria

  • RMN or Dip / BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing

Desirable criteria

  • ENB 998 / Preceptorship and Mentorship.
  • Experienced post registration at Band 5 in a relevant mental health setting or if newly qualified will participate in the Trusts Preceptorship Scheme
  • Experience in working with acute mental health problems in a community setting
  • SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY
  • Knowledge of MHA (1983), CPA, Risk Assessment and Section 25 etc.
  • Effective multi professional team communication & team working.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care with supervision
  • Medication administration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Our local Adult Community Mental Health Services are developing mini teams to enhanceour clinic provision for medicines administration and physical health support. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of nursing in a community setting, working closely with colleagues in a small supportive team,andmaking a real difference to the quality of services.

You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes - including business insurance - is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • be part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team who work creatively, collaboratively and compassionately to deliver the very best standards of care
  • have regular supervision, and continuing professional development opportunities
  • provided with excellent learning and development opportunities for staff, as well as strengthening clinical research.
