Role summary
Join a dynamic cancer pharmacy team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest specialist pharmacy services in the country. This role involves delivering cutting-edge treatments, contributing to clinical trials, and providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to adult cancer patients. You will participate in a band 7 cancer pharmacist rotation, gaining experience across various oncology and haematology settings. The position offers opportunities for research and professional development within a comprehensive cancer centre.
Essential criteria
- Qualified to a degree level (4-year MPharm or equivalent) and Pharmacist registration with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Diploma / MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Membership of British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA) or other specialist interest group
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
- Accredited tutor for a postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Diploma
- Accredited non-medical prescriber
- Quality improvement, service evaluation or audit
- Communicating complex information via multiple methods to a variety of receipients
- Experience of working as a clinical pharmacist
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of teaching and tutoring
- Experience of clinically screening SACT prescriptions with BOPA Compassly accreditations.
- Experience of preparing budgetary reports for clinical areas
- Involvement in a pharmacist led outpatient clinic
- Experience of practice research
- Involvement in developing a service
- Experience of developing drug protocols /contributing to formulary development

At Oxford, you'll be part of one of the largest specialist pharmacy services in the country, working alongside 2 Consultant Pharmacists, Highly Advanced and Advanced Cancer Pharmacists, and the very first Advanced Cancer Pharmacy Technicians in the UK.
This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with nationally and internationally recognised experts in cancer and palliative care. You'll help deliver cutting-edge treatments, including ATMPs, CAR-T, HSCT, while also contributing to services at 1 of only 5 bone and soft tissue specialist centres in England.
Our pharmacist prescribers work closely with consultants and the wider MDT to review and prescribe SACTs, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.
