Role summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Physiologist to join the Physiological Measurement Department at Borders General Hospital. The role primarily involves operating as an independently reporting Echosonographer, using cardiac ultrasound to assess and diagnose heart disease. Consideration will also be given to Clinical Physiologists with expertise in Pacemaker/ICD follow-up. The postholder will participate in all specialist areas of patient investigation within the department, with future developments including GP Open Access Echocardiography and Technician Led Heart Valve Surveillance Clinics. This postholder will ideally hold British Society of Echocardiography Adult Accreditation and operate as an independently reporting Echosonographer using cardiac ultrasound to assess and diagnose heart disease. Consideration will also be given to Clinical logists who have expertise in Pacemaker / ICD follow up. The postholder participates in all other of the department's specialist areas of patient investigation. Consideration would also be given to any new qualified graduates with a Clinical Physiology Degree looking to gain experience in an Echocardiography training position with a view of achieving British Society of Echocardiography Accreditation.
