Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional leader to join the Musculoskeletal Service for Shropshire and Telford (MSST) as a Business Support Manager. The role involves managing and monitoring service KPIs, leading a large administrative team, and driving positive change within clinical services. Key responsibilities

  • Ensure oversight of all service KPI's across the Referral Centre Team, Secretarial team and RTT team
  • Manage and monitor RTT lists, waiting lists and urgent patient pathways
  • Monitor harms processes and datix
  • Lead on service improvement with a positive drive for change
  • Be a first point of contact for partner organisations
  • Drive experience improvement for service users

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level of education, i.e NVQ Level 5, or able to demonstrate equivalent standard or experience
  • To have undertaken advanced training in electronic booking systems or equivalent experience
  • Previous supervisory or line management experience
  • Experience of working within a team
  • Database experience and the ability to use data and information to underpin decision making
  • Demonstrable secretarial and administrative experience
  • Experience of budgetary management
  • Previous supervisory experience in a multi-disciplinary administrative function to include communicating with staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of team management principles, NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework and the appraisal process
  • Excellent organisation skills, time management skills, well-motivated, able to act on own initiative but willing to take direction
  • Ability to engage positively with all staff, stakeholders, clients and members of the public
  • Confidentiality and sensitivity in working with staff, clients and stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to meet the travel requirements of the post
