Role summary
This is a fixed-term, part-time position for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician. The role involves dispensing, ward-based medicines management, community medication reviews, and clinical trials. You will work as part of a clinical technical service team, participating in full dispensary duties and recording patient medication history. The position requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Key responsibilities
- Gain experience in dispensing, ward-based medicines management duties, medication reviews in community settings and clinical trials.
- Work as part of a clinical technical service team, recording patient medication history and processing discharges at ward and community level.
- Participate in full dispensary duties.
- Participate in working extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
Essential criteria
- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Basic working knowledge of pharmacy practice
- Good written communication
- Awareness of the duties of this post
- Good customer relation skills
- Good teamwork skills
Desirable criteria
- Accuracy Checking Qualification
- Proven qualified hospital experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technicians, with good communication and teamwork skills. If you are able to work under pressure, and keen to develop yourself, we would like to hear from you. We are keen to develop the roles of our technical staff, and to support their training and progression.Out Technical Team have a great reputation for providing excellent ward based and community services.You will need excellent organisational skills in order to undertake this role and be able to work accurately and quickly under pressure, have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and be committed to the delivery of high standards in a patient focused service.If you do not have the required experience / qualifications to meet the Band 5 position , you will be appointed to Band 4 Pharmacy Technician, and are expected to achieve the qualifications and experience required to progress to a Band 5 post.
