Role summary
The Digital Trainer will join the Digital Training & Engagement team at University Hospitals of Leicester. This role involves creating and delivering training courses to ensure all staff are efficient and effective in using the Trust's clinical and business digital systems. The trainer will support the Trust's digital journey by promoting positive attitudes towards digital change and maintaining a thorough understanding of clinical information systems. They will also assist in designing and delivering high-quality digital training for staff at all levels.
Key responsibilities
- Educate staff to effectively use new technology that may significantly alter existing roles.
- Promote a positive attitude towards digital change, information use and the collection of data.
- Train staff at all levels on existing clinical systems and new systems introduced by the Trust or national programmes.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of clinical information systems and related working processes across the Trust.
- Co-ordinate effective end-user training for national and local IT system implementations within agreed project timescales.
- Identify training needs for each job role and tailor lesson plans accordingly.
Essential criteria
- High level of proficiency in the use of IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office. Advanced keyboard skills
- Educated to degree level education or equivalent level or equivalent experience delivering training services. Recognised learning and development qualification
- Knowledge of the provision of health services. Demonstrable understanding of clinical workflows relevant to EPR in NHS setting.
- Must have a methodical, disciplined approach to working practices. Have knowledge of and be able to communicate effectively on complex operational requirements for training delivery
- Must be able to demonstrate both formal and informal communication ability, orally and in writing, when dealing with colleagues and other staff at all levels
- Must demonstrate experience in course development, planning and delivery, contributing to the success of a multi-disciplinary team as effective team member, contributing to the development of policies and procedures and of developing and executing testing plans.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of digital/IT clinical systems change/project management
