Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team at Russell's Hall Hospital. You will assess and treat adults with communication and swallowing difficulties across inpatient wards, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues. The role offers excellent supervision, training, and development opportunities, including support for RCSLT Newly Qualified Practitioner Competencies. You will manage a defined acute caseload and deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.
Essential criteria
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
- Member of RCSLT
- Registered with HCPC
- Knowledge and Training
- Knowledge of assessment tools/means of assessment relevant to client group
- Knowledge of a range of therapeutic interventions relevant to client group
- Knowledge regarding standards of record keeping and confidentiality
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of attendance on relevant specialist courses
- Member of CEN relevant to client group
- Knowledge of national policies and procedures
- Knowledge of clinical governance and audit
- Relevant experience with an adult caseload at undergraduate/post graduate level
- Relevant dysphagia experience at undergraduate/post graduate level
- Communication and Relationship Skills
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
