Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Ensure the day-to-day domestic work is carried out effectively by the domestic team.
- Manage and reorganise team members' schedules, accounting for unforeseen circumstances like sickness.
- Assist and provide a full cleaning service to sterile areas, offices, and departments in accordance with work schedules.
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 Cleaning or equivalent experience of managing/supervising a team in this work area.
- Demonstrates ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and to work without direct supervision
- Basic IT / keyboard skills
- Experience of working in a team and independently
- Experience of supervising domestic staff in a hospital /care setting
- Substantive experience in a domestic role in a facilities department within a health care setting
- Demonstrates knowledge of cleaning methods and protocols
- Demonstrates knowledge of infection control, Health and Safety and COSHH policies
Desirable criteria
- Level 1 functional skills in English and Maths
- NVQ L4 or equivalent experience in supervising large staff groups
