Role summary

This role supports the Rostering and Resourcing team in managing temporary staffing needs and the health roster system. Key responsibilities include setting up new starters and leavers, recording training and development, and ensuring correct skill mix on the system. The coordinator will also encourage adherence to the Rostering Policy and support ongoing projects like centralisation of rostering. Hybrid working is available with a weekly office base requirement.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with service lines to ensure all new starters and leavers are correctly set up on the system.
  • Ensure all relevant elements of training and development are correctly set up and recorded on the system.
  • Work with service lines to ensure all relevant elements of roles skill mix are correctly recorded on the system.
  • Encourage adherence to the Rostering Policy within service lines.
  • Support ongoing projects such as centralisation of rostering.
  • Contribute to the development of the Operational Functions of Health Roster, adapting to change.

Essential criteria

  • Vocational Level 3 within a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Recent and continued professional development (CPD)
  • Experience of working in a busy administrative environment, delivering a full range of secretarial and administrative procedures
  • Previous experience of working with a range of clinical and/or corporate systems such as e-rostering
  • Previous experience in organising and planning activities and being able to react to changes as required
  • Previous experience of establishing and maintaining new systems of working
  • Good communication skills
  • Good IT skills and experience in use of relevant software packages including Excel, Word, Outlook, ESR, PowerPoint
  • Good organisational skills - able to manage busy workload, prioritise work and have a good attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships at all levels internally and externally
  • Ability to produce work of a high presentational standard with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work as a team, on own initiative and under pressure whilst being able to manage own workload and work autonomously
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to hours and duties
  • Ability to travel within the boundaries of the Trust
  • Adhere to and demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust Values, to show Compassion, Innovation and to work Collaboratively

Desirable criteria

  • European Computer Driving Licence
  • Rostering/RLDATIX Accreditation
  • Previous experience of ESR
  • Previous experience of Health Roster systems
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
  • Previous experience of Bank Staff Systems
