Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Community Addiction Nurse to join a multi-disciplinary team within Lambeth Community Drug and Alcohol Services. The nurse will be responsible for ongoing assessments, care planning, treatment, and support for individuals with drug and alcohol issues, promoting health, independence, and recovery. The service offers a range of interventions including physical and mental health support, harm minimization, and relapse prevention. The post holder will manage a defined caseload and contribute to a personalized treatment approach.
Essential criteria
- oRegistered Nurse
- oEvidence of continuing professional development and training
Desirable criteria
- oDiploma or degree level qualification in addictions or related area of practice such as CBT, dual diagnosis,
- oMentorship Qualifications and updates
- oExperience and evidence of ability to produce formal written reports, presentations and draft policies for consultation
- oExperience of supervising staff or students
- oExperience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- oExperience of the management of clients with complex needs
- Knowledge / Skills
- oA thorough understanding of harm reduction in relation to injecting behaviour as well as safer sexual practices
- oStrong understanding of harm reduction, and relapse prevention in relation to substance misuse and planning recovery
- oEffective assessment and engagement skills
- oExperience of supervising/managing junior staff and students
