Role summary
Join a friendly and supportive Neighbourhood Mental Health Team providing recovery-focused mental health care. This role involves working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting service users with evidence-based interventions, and managing a caseload. You will also support and signpost to community-based services to improve social isolation and mental wellbeing. The position requires attending weekly MDT meetings and providing support to carers.
Key responsibilities
- Work as a key member and resource of the multidisciplinary (MDT) core team.
- Undertake and support service users accessing the care of the team for recovery-focused interventions.
- Support registered professionals to deliver evidenced based interventions, managing a caseload of patients.
- Support and signpost to community-based services to improve social isolation and mental wellbeing.
- Attend weekly MDT meetings, participate in professional's meetings, refer and signpost to appropriate services dependent on patient need.
- Provide support and guidance to the carers of patients accessing the services.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification (e.g., A-level, NVQ3) in Care or equivalent qualification or experience
- Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSE, NVQ2) in Care or equivalent qualification or experience and will be expected to undertake the relevant level 3 qualification on appointment to post
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of: Communication skills
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of Literacy and numeracy skills
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of observing skills
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of Advocacy skills
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of recording skills
- The post holder will demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of liaison skills
- Ability to challenge poor behaviour
- Role modelling good behaviour
- A positive attitude and able to act on feedback
- Ability to praise and be supportive to others
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats
- Applicants should be able to work flexibly and with minimal supervision.
- The ability to cope with changing situations to routine is also important.
