Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and motivated Safeguarding Adult Advisor to join a friendly team. You will support the Trust's safeguarding agenda by promoting best practice, implementing standards, and monitoring processes in line with national legislation. The position involves supporting the effective application of safeguarding adults policies and procedures to achieve positive outcomes for adults at risk. You will also contribute to robust safeguarding monitoring, governance, and assurance systems for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist safeguarding education, advice and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive safeguarding reports, including Section 42 Safeguarding Enquiries, Domestic Homicide Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews.
- Lead and supervise the day to day implementation of safeguarding plans of care and evaluate their effectiveness.
- Work in partnership with professionals, adults, and their families/carers to support involvement in safeguarding plans.
- Act as a source of specialised knowledge and clinical expertise in relation to safeguarding.
- Support Trust staff in assessing risk and making referrals to the Local Authority.
Essential criteria
- Registration on part 1 of the NMC register/or other professional body
- Diploma or degree in relevant subject
- Evidence of further and ongoing study at Masters level
- Safeguarding Supervision qualification
- Evidence of CPD
- Knowledge of Care Act 2014 in relation to S42 enquiries
- Knowledge of acts relating to safeguarding (e.g Mental Capacity, Domestic Abuse etc)
- Demonstrate a wide range of knowledge in relation to safeguarding adults.
- Knowledge of current professional, local and national policy issues in relation to Safeguarding.
- Excellent communicator both written and verbally
- IT Literate
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent teaching skills
- Previous experience in a healthcare or similar setting.
- Safeguarding experience
- Experience of multi agency working in relation to safeguarding
