Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) to join the Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) in King's Lynn. The role involves delivering psychologically informed assessments and interventions for adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. You will work within a skilled, supportive, and multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning and enhancing access to evidence-based psychological interventions. The post requires experience in assessments, group work, and delivering mental health interventions in person.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based individual and group interventions for adults experiencing a range of complex mental health difficulties.
- Work closely with qualified Clinical Psychologists to support the development and delivery of psychological care pathways within the CMHT.
- Undertake clinical work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, in line with the CAP scope of practice.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, care planning, risk management, and formulation discussions.
- Support psychologically informed approaches across the team through consultation, collaboration, and shared learning.
Essential criteria
- Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology qualification
- Registered on the BPS Wider Psychological Workforce register as an Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP)
- Relevant supervised experience of delivering psychological assessments and interventions in [setting/service user group relevant to their specific scope of practice]
- Experience of working in a setting with Service Users presenting with moderate to severe mental health difficulties
- Relevant CPD as required by the BPS.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build rapport, communicate
- Skills in managing time and workload in the context of multiple competing demands.
- Masters level knowledge of psychological theory and research, including psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation.
