Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Band 6 Children's Community Nurse to join a supportive paediatric team in Richmond. The role involves caring for children with acute and long-term conditions, including IV antibiotic administration, oxygen therapy, and palliative care, across various settings. You will have opportunities for training in cytotoxic medication administration and developing teaching skills. The service operates 7 days a week, requiring weekend work approximately one weekend every 8 to 10 weeks.

Essential criteria

  • Registered Children's Nurse and Supervisor/Assessor qualification
  • Intravenous medication certificate and competency.

Desirable criteria

  • Cytotoxic medication administration competency
  • Experience of safeguarding procedures with children/families and young people
  • Post registration experience in a range of settings
  • Relevant community experience
  • Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently showing initiative and decision making.
  • Competent in the use of enteral feeding devices and central venous access devices.
  • Other
  • Have a current driving license and access to a car for work purposes.
