Role summary

This is a 12-month secondment opportunity for a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist within the Havant and Petersfield community CAMHS team. The role involves delivering high-quality, specialist CBT interventions to children and young people with significant mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and PTSD. The therapist will also contribute to initial assessments, duty support, and team meetings. The team offers regular supervision, reflective practice, and a comprehensive induction plan.

Essential criteria

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Equivalent
  • Accredited Cognitive Behavioural
  • Psychotherapist (BABCP) (or eligible for)
  • Evidence of ongoing Professional Development in CBT

Desirable criteria

  • Post Registration qualification in clinical practice
  • Post Registration clinical experience in CBT
  • Experience of working within a CAMHS setting
  • Experience of treating a wide range of psychological disorders using CBT
  • Experience of working autonomously
  • Substantial experience of assessing and recording Risk Management plans
  • Experience of working with complex conditions as identified through ICD10
  • Experience of providing education, teaching and training in relation to CBT
  • Experience of collating and recording clinical outcomes
  • Engagement in an ongoing CPD CBT programme (including attendance at CBT conferences or training)
  • Clinical experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Post registration clinical experience of working within the community

Job summary

Havant and Petersfield CAMHS has an exciting opportunity for a 12-month secondment for a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist.

This would be a full-time role within the Havant and Petersfield community CAMHS team, focused on delivering high-quality, specialist CBT interventions to children and young people with significant mental health difficulties (including anxiety, depression, OCD and PTSD).

The role would also involve contributing to the wider core CAMHS team by completing initial assessments, supporting duty and engaging with the formulation, clinical and team meetings.

At present, the Trust is unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a confident professional with a demonstrable track record of providing high-quality, evidence-based CBT interventions to children and young people. We would welcome applications from BABCP-accredited CBT therapists who share our passion for delivering the best quality care experience for children and their families. This role will be closely supported by the other CBT Therapists in the team and the Senior Clinical Psychologist.
