Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic, organised, and highly motivated Team Administrator to join the Mental Health Liaison Psychiatry (East) service at Queen's Hospital. The administrator will coordinate patient flow, process referrals, and support clinicians in delivering specialist mental health care across multiple hospital sites. It involves managing administrative processes, maintaining patient records, and handling incoming queries, requiring autonomy and flexibility within a busy multidisciplinary team.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ 3 in Business Admin, finance, customer care or relevant experience
  • Possesses a recognised typing qualification (RSA II typing or equivalent) or can display word processing skills to an equivalent level of competence
  • Previous secretarial / administrative experience
  • A good understanding of office procedures
  • Working as part of a team
  • Manage and prioritise own workload

  • Previous experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of using RiO or a patient clinical system.
  • Skills & Knowledge
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent typing skills and ability to transcribe from audio with precision and speed

This role would be ideal for an Administrator who enjoys bringing structure, anticipating needs, handling calls and acting as a calm organised presence within a busy service. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to play a pivotal role within a busy and dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting the delivery of specialist mental health care across three hospital sites, including one acute hospital and two community hospitals.
