Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic Receptionist in the Medical Education Centre at Basildon Hospital. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, providing excellent customer service both face-to-face and over the phone. Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and IT
- Ability to use Microsoft Office confidently and competently (e.g Excel, Word, Outlook etc....)
- Technical experience of computers
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate attention to detail

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Receptionist to join our team in the Medical Education Centre at Basildon Hospital.
You will have a confident manner in both face-to-face and telephone communication, together with good IT skills. You will enjoy providing excellent customer care and have a passionate approach to your work. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
- Act as first point of contact for visitors to the department, providing a welcoming environment, meeting and greeting all visitors and handling their enquiries professionally and helpfully
- Provide an excellent customer care service, including dealing with visitors, telephone and written enquiries for details of meetings, promotions, examinations, activities, training and development sessions and taking action as appropriate
- Liaise with key external organisations to ensure the smooth running of study days and other important events
- Assist with signing-in and refreshments at events
- Ensure any messages are passed to the appropriate person promptly
