Role summary

Essential criteria
- 2 years experience working in Forensics
- Extensive post registration experience as a Clinical Occupational Therapist
- Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work reflecting social inclusion
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in Prisons
- Diploma/ BSc or Masters in Occupational Therapy
- UK HCPC registration
- Sensory Integration qualification
- Post graduate diploma in Forensics
- Skills/Abilities/Knowledge
- Use and understanding of the MOHO
- Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions relevant to clinical area
- Presentation and training skill

Job summary
As part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will provide specialist assessment and intervention to offenders in prison. You will promote active engagement in meaningful occupations and facilitate the skills development and independence of patients. The postholder will work in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in prison in contributing to the development and delivery of safe, effective care, while also holding care co-ordination responsibility for a clinical caseload.
Main duties of the job
o Manage a complex clinical caseload
o Work as a member of the multi-professional team and proactively support the NHSE&I safe staffing initiative
o Lead on the development of evidence-based OT practice
o Provide OT specific assessment & interventions via groups & individual work related to self- care, work and leisure
o Lead on service development
o Lead and participate in research/audit/quality improvement activities
o Supervise the work of junior staff including OT students on clinical placement
