Role summary
This role is for a dedicated and compassionate Band 7 Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead to join an expanding Rehabilitation Community Therapy service. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, supervision, and person-centred rehabilitation therapy in clients' homes and community settings. They will manage a complex caseload, support clients in developing daily living skills, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The position offers opportunities for professional development and shaping community rehabilitation services.
Essential criteria
- Graduate diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- Member of RCOT
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate qualification/training in clinical specialty/related topic.
- Membership of relevant special interest group(s)
- Accredited fieldwork educator
- Experience and Knowledge
- Extensive experience of working with complex rehabilitation patients with long-term conditions
- Leadership experience
- Advanced Clinical Skills in rehabilitation
- Experience of service evaluation and audit
- Experience of evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of relevant National Agendas/Policies/Frameworks
- Adept in the development of and implementation of Clinical Policies and Procedures
- Experience of disseminating information across organisational boundaries
- Experience of working within a broad interdisciplinary team / cross organization working
- Networking with other clinicians within rehabilitation to support up to date practice.
- Substantial clinical experience in a range of different areas
- Experience of teaching, development, and supervision of students, therapy assistants and junior staff.
- Maintenance of developmental portfolio
- Approachable and the ability to build excellent professional relationships, and a professional role model.
- Proactiveness to provide training and education to others.
- Experience of working within a broad interdisciplinary team / cross organization working
- Membership of relevant interest group(s)
- Working as a Lead Clinician - delegating to others, overseeing their work and providing clinical leadership
- Skills and Ability

Main duties of the job
What You'll Do
- Clinical management of a multidisciplinary team (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, technical instructors, falls nurses and core-coordinators).
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and, in some cases, complex caseload management (approx. 80-20% clinical/management split)
- Provide person-centred rehabilitation therapy in clients' homes and community settings
- Support clients to develop daily living skills, mobility, confidence, and independence
