Role summary

This role supports the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Haematology team, providing excellent, personalised care to Haematology patients. Key duties include supporting patients in clinics, managing telephone enquiries, and liaising with primary care providers. The post holder will develop specialist knowledge and act as a point of contact for patients and their families. This is a part-time, permanent position.

Job summary

To support the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Haematology team to deliver excellent, personalised care to Haematology patients whilst developing your own skills and knowledge within the speciality.

Main duties of the job

To support patients in clinics alongside consultants- offering holistic care and support where necessary.

To follow up with patient post clinic to ensure continuity of support.

Managing the telephone enquiries of patients and their carers; prioritising, assessing and escalating as appropriate.

To support the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the preparation of the nurse led clinics liaising with primary care providers to ensure all relevant medical details are available for the clinics.
