Role summary
This role supports Children's Specialist Nurses and clinicians by managing day-to-day administrative tasks. Responsibilities include arranging appointments, processing outcomes, ordering consumables, and handling queries. The post holder will also type outpatient clinics and generate data reports. Strong computer skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
Key responsibilities
- Support Children's nursing team's day to day administrative activities.
- Arrange outpatient appointments and process outcomes.
- Raise requisition orders for consumables for individual patients.
- Deal with day to day queries.
- Type outpatient clinics and provide timely specific data reports.
Essential criteria
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C and above or equivalent
- RSA/OCR Level 2 or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a busy office environment
- Knowledge of a range of administrative processes
- Excellent communication Skills
- Ability to prioritise workload
- To function efficiently under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Approachable and professional in dealing with people
- Ability to work alone or as a member of a team
- A flexible attitude towards duties and responsibilities
- Friendly and efficient telephone manner
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Customer Service Level 2
- Experience of working within the NHS / Hospital setting
- Knowledge of patient administration system
- Knowledge of medical terminology

Job summary
Applications are invited for the position of Community Nursing Administration Support Assistant. The post holder will work closely with the other team members and support the Children's Specialist Nurses and clinicians to provide and effective and efficient Service.
This is a varied role where the post holder will be expected to support the Children's nursing team's day to day administrative activities which will include arranging outpatients appointments, processing outcomes, raising requisition orders for consumables for individual patients, dealing with day to day queries, typing of outpatient clinics and provide timely specific data reports. The applicant is expected to have confident and competent computer skills become skilled with a variety of IT systems required and used by the service. The ability to work well both independently and as a member of the team is essential and candidates will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills when managing an office.
