Role summary
This is a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist role at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, offered on a fixed-term basis until March 2027. The position is suitable for newly qualified or experienced therapists keen to work in an adult acute setting with acquired communication and swallowing impairments. Essential criteria
- Attainment of relevant qualifications in Speech and Language Therapy as recognised by RCSLT and HCPC
- Registered member of RCSLT and HCPC
- Undergraduate clinical experience in adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders
Desirable criteria
- Experience/observation of dysphagia, Videofluoroscopy, Fibre optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow at undergraduate or post graduate level
- Basic knowledge of assessment and therapeutic interventions for acquired communication and swallowing disorders
- Attitude, aptitude
- Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH's PRIDE values of People focussed, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence

Job summary
We are excited to offer three Band 5 posts on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2027. Based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a large state of the art teaching hospital, these posts will be suitable for both newly qualified and more established Band 5 therapists keen to develop their skills and gain experience in an adult acute setting, working with acquired communication and swallowing impairments. Dysphagia training will be provided and successful candidates will have the opportunity to see patients across our three main specialities including acute, neurosciences and head & neck/voice. patients with acquired communication and swallowing impairments.
You will join a supportive and motivated team who are enthusiastic and innovative and are committed to evidence based practice. Regular team meetings, support and supervision ensure a high quality of service is provided by you and the team as a whole. The team also has strong links with the University of East Anglia, including the School of Health Sciences and Medical School. These links offer exciting opportunities for professional and personal development.
