Role summary
The breast cancer clinical nurse specialist team is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual to join their established team. This role involves providing specialist care and support across the health board, leading innovation and change within the breast service. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The position is full-time, based at Prince Phillip Hospital, with travel to other sites.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Part 1)
- Current NMC Registration
- Master's Degree or equivalent experience
- Specialist qualifications
- Expert level of knowledge in clinical speciality
- Knowledge of service improvement
- Able to undertake a literature search and critically appraise research papers
Desirable criteria
- Teaching qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Management qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced clinical skills
- Non-medical Prescribing (v300)
- Relevant experience at Band 6
- Experience in the relevant specialty
- Experience of working in a multi-professional environment
- Experience of managing a ward/area/department
- Experience of working with pre-registration nursing/midwifery students in a mentorship role
- Experience of undertaking audit
- Experience of using reflective learning to support the development of self and staff
- Band 7 experience
- Experience of participating in research

Job summary
The breast cancer clinical nurse specialist team are looking for an innovative and dynamic individual with an appropriate nursing skill set to join the established team of cancer specialist nurses, surgical consultants and support workers who provide specialist care and support to work across the health board.
We are looking for an individual who has a flexible approach to the needs of the service, is dynamic, self-motivated, and reliable and a good team player. As the band 7 you will be responsible for leading innovation and change within the breast service and must have the passion and drive to provide high-quality person-centred care.
This is a substantive band 7 post at 37.5 hrs per week (1 WTE). The base location would be at Prince Phillip Hospital but with an expectation to travel to other hospital sites within the health board to support services and service delivery in line with National Optimal Pathways and the Health board's cancer agenda.
Main duties of the job
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
