Role summary
This role is for a dynamic and motivated Children's Nurse to join a multidisciplinary team on a 22-bedded Children's Unit and Paediatric Assessment Unit. Key responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective care to children (0-18) on the Children's Unit/Paediatric Assessment Unit.
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate evidence-based individualised patient care.
- Contribute to the continuing development of standards of care and nursing standards.
- Monitor outcomes, assess, and implement care plans.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team including youth workers, mental health teams, and paediatric physicians.
- Develop clinical skills and competencies with support from experienced nurses and clinical practice facilitators.
Essential criteria
- First level Registered Children's Nurse
- Current/Live registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
- Safeguarding Children training
- Professional, clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree or equivalent
- Recent experience of nursing children in acute/community setting or recently completed a Return to Nursing course
- Experience of working withing a multi-disciplinary environment
- Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification and preceptorship
Desirable criteria
- Level 3 Safeguarding Children
- Mentorship/Supervision course
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development or other training relevant to role
- Post-registration experience of Children's Emergency or acute paediatric care
