Role summary
This Healthcare Assistant role is a permanent, part-time position within the iCaSH Norwich team, focusing on integrated contraception and sexual health services. The post holder will support patient care, including assisting with examinations, providing information on sexual health, and performing phlebotomy. It requires an enthusiastic individual with good time management and communication skills, committed to patient-first care and continuous learning. The role also involves some non-clinical administrative duties.
Essential criteria
- Evidence of good standard of general education including basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Care Certificate or willingness to undertake at the earliest opportunity upon recruitment to post.
- Willingness to undertake further education and training /learn new skills as required.
Desirable criteria
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Sexually Transmitted Infection Foundation (STIF) course - Core.
- Adult Basic Life Support (in date).
- Experience of working in a health care environment.
- Experience of working with the public.
- Basic knowledge of and experience of IT systems such as Microsoft Office (2005 pr newer) Word, Excel, Outlook and internet navigation.
- Recent experience of working in a sexual and reproductive health service or equivalent
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with IDOX LILIE clinical system.
- Skils
- Able to perform the full range of duties the role requires and dexterity to perform clinical duties.
- Capable of using equipment within a work environment following training.
- Competent in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
- Experience of reading and interpreting microscopy slides, and ability to appropriately document associated findings if required by the service

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within iCaSH Norwich working in a substantive 28.75 hour per week post as a Healthcare Assistant. You will be working within our multi-disciplinary team.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys providing excellent care and ensure patients are always put first. We want someone who wants to learn and develop.
Good time management skills and the ability to thrive in a busy environment are key. Excellent written & verbal communication abilities are a must. You will also maintain privacy, confidentiality, dignity, and ensure the patient is well looked after.
The post holder will support the delivery of healthcare for patients attending the integrated contraception and sexual health (iCaSH) service which is part of East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust (EEC). This may include the supporting of patients who present with sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, contraception requirements and/or any other sexual health related problems.
Working Pattern: 28.5 hours to be worked over 08.30-18.15 Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 08.30-19.30 Tuesday and Thursday and 08.45-12.30 Saturdays on rotation. Hours to be discussed at interview
