Role summary
This is a permanent, part-time Community Mental Health Support Worker role based in Central Shropshire. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a key worker to deliver interventions focused on assisting individuals with mental health needs to achieve their recovery goals. This includes promoting independence, meaningful occupation, physical health, and social inclusion. The role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in (Mental) Health and Social Care with demonstrable evidence of numeracy and literacy skills (equivalent GCSE's or Functional Skills)
- Experience that equips the person with the necessary knowledge, skill and competence as outlined below
Desirable criteria
- Phlebotomy
- Experience working in mental health
- Experience in care/support worker role.
- extensive experience working in mental health and community

We have a wonderful opportunity for a Community Mental Health Support Worker to join our team within Central Shropshire CMH based at Severn Field's Health Village, working 30 hours per week.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- have previously worked with people with mental health difficulties
- can demonstrate that you are skilled in working as a part of a team
- can engage with people and promote independence
The role of the Community Mental Health Support Worker you will work under the direction of the key worker/lead professional and deliver interventions to people with mental health needs.
The interventions will be focused on assisting the person to identify and achieve their agreed goals of recovery. These will include interventions relating to meaningful occupation, accessing employment, assessing and promoting physical health, social inclusion, activities of daily living and mental health recovery.
You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational therapists and Support Workers.
