Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician in Aseptic Services at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. Key responsibilities
- Carry out complex technical pharmacy processes with high accuracy, including calculations, documentation checks, and quality assurance for safe preparation workflows.
- Maintain specialist competencies for aseptic practice, ensuring compliance with validation standards, controlled environment procedures, and safe handling of specialist medicines.
- Process medication requests and prescriptions accurately, maintaining records, supporting stock control, and recording medicines information through appropriate systems.
- Undertake specialist dispensing activities for clinical trials, unlicensed medicines, chemotherapy-related products, and emergency supplies, adhering to defined procedures.
- Contribute to workforce development by assisting with training, guidance, and supervision of pharmacy staff, students, and colleagues, while maintaining continued professional learning.
- Support the effective running of pharmacy services by identifying improvement opportunities, using resources responsibly, complying with safety requirements, and contributing to risk reduction.
Essential criteria
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with NVQ Level 3/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working within a hospital pharmacy setting.
- Experience in aseptic preparation and cytotoxic reconstitution.
- Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and dispensing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with good communication and teamwork skills.In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of
